Snow trip day 2

A story behind: Pas de la Casa is one of the biggest ski-resorts in Europe and certainly the biggest in Pyrenees mountains with its 110 ski runs. Most of the resort is situated in Andorra but the Eastern tip of the skiing area is located in France. In the morning we came from France, crossed the D´Envalira tunnel, entered Andorra and parked our car just beneath the Grau Roig chair lift.
The weather was unstable.

A lonely tree

A story behind: Shot in the late afternoon on the same day.
To get to a nice photo spot sometimes you have to take off your ski and walk a little in the ski-boots in a deep snow. That´s kind of tough.

Snow trip - day 1

A story behind: The great thing about going for holidays close to the border between two countries is that you can ski, sight-see, eat and taste different cultures during one stay.

This year we went to Puigcedra ( Spain ) and our hotel ( Torre del Remei ) is located just 2 kilometres from the French border and only 30 km from Andorra.

On the first day we went skiing to France to the small Ax Les Thermes ski resort.

The game of "light and shadow" on the green fields.

A story behind: This was the second day I spent on the islands. In the morning I drove east and soon stopped at one of the view-points overlooking the Furnas valley. The light passing through the dark clouds got absorbed and scattered resulting in beautiful "light and shadow" game on the green fields.

The wind-beaten olive tree

A story behind: Many parts of Beira Interior region in central Portugal are flooded now. The water covered many deserted areas of this sparsely populated land.
During my late afternoon walk near the Lardosa village I spotted a small wind-beaten olive tree that resembled
so much a famous Van Gogh painting.
Enjoy !

Just another Atlantic sunset

A story behind: Just another Atlantic sunset ? No, it is not. Every time I have a pleasure to watch the sunsets over the Atlantic ocean I am being thankful to God for these miracles.

Black and white

A story behind: Black and white photography doesn’t attract with its play of colors. Here close attention to composition, lighting, perspective and the context are important. I am not a very black-and-white photography maker. I cherish beautiful B&Ws that belong to the upper league of THE BIG photography.
This is my first one.
My new resolution: do better B&W photos.

A sea of grass

A story behind: I took my bag and begun a slow walk up and down the rolling grassy surroundings. The grass was lush with long, wide and strong blades that imitated a thick carpet. I walked with pleasure. At the top of the next hill I stopped, prepared my gear and took a few photos.

A lonely cow house

A story behind: On the early Friday morning I drove to the heart of the island and to one of my favorite places I personally call "a little Tuscany". The green countryside somehow resembles the most famous Italian rolling hills. The grass is however greener and the sky not always as clear as in Italy. I stopped the car at the outskirts of the small village Salga stunned by the view of a small abandoned cow house at the top of the tiny hill.
